back from obs =)
i shall recap abt it. leadership course was FINE. yep.
day one
we reached and we went to our dorm to put our stuff. it was rather a okay place. down to view campsite for the night. we had to build our own shelters and that part sucked. we were given poles, ground sheets and canvas and we had to build a tent for ourselves with no knowledge of how to build a tent. relied ALOT on the np and ncc people. thank god for them. some of us learnt belaying then we had to teach the rest. gosh. i was so afraid that i would teach the wrong stuff. hahah. at night we learnt abseiling, basic of kayaking, knotting, and some first aid. then down to camp for the night. it was sooooo difficult to sleep coz we were squeezed very badly. sweating like crazy too. it was a messy but a little boring day. oh yes. our instructors were shuxian, ai chin, shukor, and liew. they were a nice bunch but they hardly did anything coz apparently we had to do things on our own.

day two.
we did rock climbing! hahah it was really fun and we had to climb and abseil for our level one cert. the inside one was okay. outside one was easier i felt. hahah oh yes. polly belayed me. hahah. i was rather scared okay. spent lots of time waiting coz we had 60 ppl so we had to wait for evryone to finish. hmm. afternoon we did rafting. it was rather fun except sheares. oh yes that's my watch name. had a little prob. one of our pipes were infested with red ants! we spent loads of time killing it. so our raft was a submarine kind but it could still float okay! hahah sheares rock =) at night we learnt how to read map and all. it was rather tough but very geographical.

day three.
warmed up in the morning. played kind of wrestling game. hahha it was rather stupid. but a lot of fun. did orienteering. like trekking. to find our check points for our rations. we had to do bashing okay. we were so scared coz we had no instructors with us and we were in rather small groups of 7 or 8. freaky. and lots of mosquitoes. packed our stuff and we were supposed to kayak to our other campsite for the night. prepared everything but halfway through the weather was very bad and most of us didnt get a chance. stayed at our own camp. but we stayed out next to the flying fox. cooked at the beach. the food was not bad. but the building of the tents part was BAD. no trees to tie our ropes to so we had to knock and dig holes. gosh. me krys and julie injured our fingers. but sheares you really rock coz we did a lot. planned and learned how to deal with problems for our kayaking expedition the next day.

day four. woke up early in the morning and off we were on our expedition. paddled until we met with a slight storm near the rocks and mangroves. stopped there for a while and we were very worried we couldnt finish our expedition and that we couldnt reach frog island by 1. but when we set off again, we paddled doubly hard and we reached frog island at 1215! it was amazing. continued to kayak and the second part of the journey was tough. huge waves and strong wind. we were dying already but still we kayaked on. we finished our expedition in 8 hours but the final part was tough coz storm was approaching again and the waves were very very strong. we were done and the sense of accomplishment was simply overwhelming. tired but very happy. didnt do much in the night except packing as we were really tired.

day five.
flying fox! it was super fun! i loved it soooooo much. but my wrist hurt coz it was injured. oh yes. polly was stuck in the middle coz she was too light. hahha she took really long to get down. cleared and packed and sheares took spastic pics as a watch. it was so funny. we came up with our farewell song somemore. lunch then we did reflections and shared our experiences and i really felt we learnt ALOT. left ubin at 2 plus and it was really sad. sigh. i miss obs

our instructors were really nice and friendly and aichin was the extreme. we called her beautiful or mei nu. hahah she was super ego and she makes us laugh like crazy. she always rolls her eyes and is super sarcastic and funny. hahhah shuxian too. hahah and shukor is so dramatic. but aichin's still the drama queen. hahah

sheares was the best watch i could ever ask for. all the fun people. polly, krys huan, julie, siti, gen seow, elizabeth, qixin,chenxi, yongxin, kelly, fenghui, candice, dawn and gracia. we were the absolute best. we often did more then what we should to help and we were really united like how we made our submarine float. hahha we were a crazy and fun bunch and i miss obs so much! damn. but i've been really lucky to have such perfect watch mates =) sheares. werock.
